Motocross Plug Size Guide

Important: Motocross sizing varies a lot by brand, model, and gear style. Use the product page size chart as the primary reference whenever one is available. This page is a general starting point for customers who want a quick guide before checking the item-specific chart.

How To Measure

For the most accurate fit, use a soft measuring tape and measure over light clothing.

  • Gloves: measure around the widest part of your hand, just below the knuckles, excluding the thumb.
  • Jerseys: measure your chest around the fullest part of your torso.
  • Pants: measure your waist where you normally wear riding pants.
  • Helmets: measure around your head about 1 inch above your eyebrows and ears.

If you are between sizes, check the product page chart first. Some brands run slim, while others run larger or are built for a race fit. If you are in between two sizes and you want a closer fit choose the smaller size, if you want a looser fit choose the larger size.

Motocross Gloves

Glove sizing is based on hand circumference.

SizeHand Circumference
XS6.5 – 7 in / 16.5 – 17.8 cm
S7 – 7.5 in / 17.8 – 19.1 cm
M7.5 – 8 in / 19.1 – 20.3 cm
L8 – 8.5 in / 20.3 – 21.6 cm
XL8.5 – 9 in / 21.6 – 22.9 cm
XXL9 – 9.5 in / 22.9 – 24.1 cm

Fit note: Gloves should feel snug without cutting off circulation. If you prefer more finger room, consider the larger size option on the product page chart.

Motocross Jerseys

Common jersey sizing is based on chest measurement and riding fit.

SizeChest
XS32 – 34 in / 81 – 86 cm
S34 – 36 in / 86 – 91 cm
M38 – 40 in / 96 – 102 cm
L42 – 44 in / 107 – 112 cm
XL46 – 48 in / 117 – 122 cm
XXL50 – 52 in / 127 – 132 cm

Fit note: most motocross jerseys are designed for an athletic or race fit. If you wear body armor or chest protection underneath, check the product page for fit notes and size up if needed.

Motocross Pants

Pants sizing is based on waist measurement. Many brands also use a numbered waist system.

SizeWaist
2828 – 29 in / 71 – 74 cm
3030 – 31 in / 76 – 79 cm
3232 – 33 in / 81 – 84 cm
3434 – 35 in / 86 – 89 cm
3636 – 37 in / 91 – 94 cm
3838 – 39 in / 97 – 99 cm
4040 – 41 in / 102 – 104 cm

Fit note: motocross pants often run more tailored than casual pants. If you use knee braces, knee guards, or padded shorts, you may need more room than your normal waist size suggests.

Motocross Helmets

Helmet sizing is based on head circumference.

SizeHead Circumference
XS20.1 – 20.5 in / 51 – 52 cm
S20.5 – 21.3 in / 52 – 54 cm
M21.3 – 22 in / 54 – 56 cm
L22 – 22.8 in / 56 – 58 cm
XL22.8 – 23.6 in / 58 – 60 cm
XXL23.6 – 24.4 in / 60 – 62 cm

Fit note: a helmet should feel snug and stable without painful pressure points. Cheek pads and liner shape can vary by brand, so always check the product page chart and fit notes before buying.

General Fit Tips

  • When in doubt, compare your measurements to the product page chart first.
  • If you are between sizes, check whether the gear is race fit, relaxed fit, youth fit, or armored fit.
  • Helmets should not move freely on your head once properly fitted.
  • Gloves should flex with your hand without bunching too much in the palm.
  • Jerseys should allow movement without hanging too loose.
  • Pants should fit the waist securely and still allow knee protection.

Product Page Charts Come First

Some of our products already include a brand-specific size chart directly on the product page. That chart should be treated as the most accurate reference for that item.

This page is here to give you a quick general guide. If the product page chart differs from this page, use the product page chart.
